Edinburgh Castle

Visit Scotland’s most famous castle.  Edinburgh Castle was formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago. Today the castle now serves as a military station and is home to the Scottish National War Memorial. It is also host to the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo. In 1996 the Crown Jewels were returned to Scotland from Westminster and secured safely in Edinburg Castle.  After your visit to the castle, take a stroll down the famous Royal Mile which is close by. 

 

 

 

The Highlands

Get lost in a journey with breathtaking scenery. The Scottish Highlands are a mountainous region encompassing northwest Scotland. Lock Ness is at the centre, overlooked by the ruins of medieval Urquhart Castle and known for mythical monster “Nessie”. Northeast, near the city of Inverness, dolphins swim in the Moray Firth, Southwest, in the Western Highlands, trails wind up Ben Nevis, the U.K.’ highest peak, red deer roam Glencoe valley with its waterfalls.

The difference between Irish Whiskey and Scottish Whisky is all in the letter E. Take a whirlwind guided tour to any one of the 133 distillery’s scattered around Scotland. Listen to some of the master distillers tell you local stories and how their whisky is made. Sample some amazing blends of their uisce beatha ( water of life )  whisky’s.   

 

Golf

Scotland gave the world kilts, haggis and the Highland Games. However, golf academics say golf was not invented in Scotland. Who cares? They have the world famous St Andrews along with other historical golf courses. If golf is your passion. Take a trip to Scotland. Play a round or two at some courses of your choice. Afterwards, pull up a chair at the club house and banter with locals over a glass of fine Scottish whisky and debate about who invented the game of golf.
